Canyon Adventures adopt a risk management policy aimed at minimizing risks. By their very nature, the outdoor activities offered by Canyon Adventures can never be considered 100% safe, as there always remains a part of risk (personal, environmental, factual) that cannot be completely excluded. The customer therefore agrees to practice the aforementioned activities “as they are”, aware of the risks involved.

For minors, acceptance of the conditions and assessment of psycho-physical suitability to participate in the activities is the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian.

Kayaking and bellyaking

The kayak and bellyak tours are carried out on the river, on white water using plastic boats. They involve the autonomous descent, under the supervision of a guide, of a stretch of river suitable for the participants’ abilities. A theoretical lesson and practical exercises are planned before the actual descent.

The following equipment is foreseen and provided by the organization for kayak and bellyak tours and lessons:

  • boat (open kayak or bellyak)
  • propulsion tool (paddle for the kayak, webbed gloves for the bellyak)
  • buoyancy aid
  • helmet

Each participant is required to bring the following personal items:

  • a pair of COMFORTABLE personal trainers or water shoes (to use during the tour – they get wet)
  • swim wear
  • towel or bathrobe
  • dry change
  • plastic bag to store wet clothes
  • sunglasses and sunscreen recommended

For each tour we change directly on site, before entering the water (there are NO changing rooms or bathrooms).
Risk policy for potential dangerous sport activity

It is compulsory for every participant to use the complete equipment provided by the organization during the whole duration of the tour. Every participant must follow the instructions given by the guides, avoiding any personal initiative and cooperating when requested. The guides are entitled to postpone, suspend or change the excursions in case of bad weather or any other situation threatening the safety of the participants. The guides are also free to decide about any participants’ fitness.
During the free courtesy transfer in the Canyon Adventures’ coaches you must fasten your seat belts. Canyon Adventures won’t be held responsible for fines.

THE USER/PARTICIPANT DECLARES TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • river kayaking and bellyaking are outdoor sports practiced in a particular natural environment, and as such it does involve some risks (like rockslides, thunderstorms, variations of the water level, drowning…).
  • every single participant is responsible for the conduct of his/her boat/board.
  • potentially dangerous passages will be indicated by the guide and are not compulsory, but can always be avoided.

Canyon Adventures won’t be held responsible in case of theft, loss or damage to any personal belongings left in the busses.
  • he/she will use cameras only as advised (NO helmet supports and sticks allowed), under my complete responsibility and only if use does not interfere with my safety and the one of the whole group. The guides are NOT responsible for custody, loss or recovery of the cameras.
